Garrett Studios, Ltd. originated in 1980 and is located at 1105 Piney Forest Road in Danville, Virginia. Our spacious Victorian decorated studio houses the finest in photographic and lighting equipment and encompasses some 3200 square feet. We have an 800 square foot camera room providing photographic opportunities for virtually every need including motorized backgrounds and three separate shooting locations. A wide variety of backgrounds and props compliment this ultra-modern photographic facility.
We offer the finest in framing, providing a wide variety of ready-made frames in addition to custom framing and matting. For our brides, we offer an extensive array of wedding invitations and accessories. In addition, we are the areas only studio to offer complete baby shoe bronzing in a wide variety of styles and finishes.

William H. "Bill" Garrett's Biography
Having won several photographic awards from The Virginia Press Association, where photographic subjects are not always pleasant, Bill decided to pursue photography of a more pleasing nature and opened Garrett Studios, Ltd. in 1980. His business is described as twenty percent commercial and eighty percent portrait, with the portrait end being primarily weddings, seniors, and children. In 1995, Bill was awarded membership in Sterling Who's Who for "excellence and leadership in the field of photography". National Register's Who's Who selected Bill as an honored professional "for excellence and professionalism in the photographic industry" in 2000.
Joining the Virginia Professional Photographers Association in 2000, Bill earned his Associate Fellow of Photography in 2005. Bill joined the Professional Photographers of America in 2004 and earned his Craftsman Degree in 2008. Bill was the recipient of The Robert Opfer Scholarship in 2005 and is a two-time Governor of the Blue Ridge District in the state of Virginia. In 2010, PPA awarded the coveted National Award to Bill for "meritorious contributions to professional photography".
Having a particular passion for teaching, he has taught photography at the community college level and is a regular PPA Super Monday instructor.
